As the third quarter of 2021 comes to an end, I feel it is important to share some of the work that has been accomplished in our city. I encourage you to share this information, and I hope that you will reach out if you have any questions about these or other projects - Mayor Ray Bourque
โžค The City Council has voted to support and fund just over $1 million for road overlay projects, which will take place over the coming months.
โžค Our city has three new Certified Sites, which means more opportunity to bring big manufacturers, such as our first one - the SafeSource PPE plant, to our city.
โžค Phase 1 of Envision Broussard will be completed soon. This $2.4 million project is happening along Main St., from S. Bernard Rd. to Clara St., and includes major drainage improvements, such as a new box culvert that was recently installed to improve drainage near S. Bernard Rd. and Main St. as well as reconfiguration of drainage swales. There will also be an entry gateway structure, 10-foot-wide multiuse paths, signage, landscaping, and more. โžค We launchedย www.discoverbroussard.com, a tourism-related website, which will market our local businesses and tell the story of our rich history to visitors and locals alike.
โžค We completed water projects along S. Bernard Rd., our downtown area, along Ambassador Caffery Pkwy., and near the railroad crossing at Albertson Pkwy., plus a new waterline project started along La Neuville Rd.
โžค Our City Water Dept. was recognized by the EPA for participating in the Area Wide Optimization Program.
โžค 31 New Business Occupational Licenses have been issued since July 1st. With the 50 new licenses in the first half of the year, that makes 81 new businesses in Broussard this year.
โžค There are currently 760 newly constructed/under-construction homes in Broussard, with an additional 467 rooftops within subdivisions that are in the planning and developing stage.

ย  ย  ย โ—‹ Blood Drive to raise funds for Alex Bourque, a firefighter who is battling bone cancer
ย  ย  ย โ—‹ Our first Coffee with the Mayor and Chief of Police was held atย Jet Coffeeย โ€“ an informal event to gather with our community. The next coffee will be 10/22, atย PJ's Coffeeย from 7-8:30am
ย  ย  ย โ—‹ย Kiwanis Club of Broussard-Youngsville, Louisianaย spruced up Arceneaux Park with a fresh coat of paint
โžค We kicked off our โ€œItโ€™s Fall Yโ€™allโ€ campaign to encourage local businesses to decorate for Fall. We also set up a Fall photo opportunity at the Valsin Broussard House, and we encourage you to take pictures there, especially of kidsโ€™ Halloween costumes. You can submit those photos to theย Broussard Chamber of Commerce's contest via their Facebook page.
โžคย Broussard Sports Complex at St. Julien Parkย has hosted the following: True Talent Football, Little League Regional Tournament, Little League State Tournament, and 2D Sport Showcase, bringing 1000s of visitors to our city. Coming this month isย St. Julien Jamsย withย Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogieย on Oct. 21, and 2D Sports Baseball tournaments on Oct. 17, 30, & 31.ย
